Sea urchin-like microstructure pressure sensors with an ultra-broad range and high sensitivity

Abstract Sensitivity and pressure range are two significant parameters of sensors. Existing sensors have difficulty achieving both high sensitivity a wide range. Therefore, we propose new sensor with ternary nanocomposite Fe 2 O 3 /C@SnO . The sea urchin-like structure promotes signal transduction protects needles from mechanical breaking, while the acetylene carbon black improves conductivity Moreover, one part SnO nanoparticles adheres to surfaces forms /SnO heterostructures, its other disperses into layer form @C structure. Collectively, synergistic effects three structures (Fe /C, @C) on limited response single experimental results demonstrate that exhibits (680 kPa ?1 ), fast (10 ms), broad (up 150 kPa), good reproducibility (over 3500 cycles under 110 implying has application prospects especially in wearable electronic devices health monitoring.
